Member Involvement in an Internal Study
Lord Somers Camp & Power House is undergoing an assessment and planning phase and would like member’s involvement. As part of this phase we are conducting an internal survey. This survey is being conducted in conjunction with the University of Melbourne through an online survey website (survey monkey). This is an extremely important process and we value your feedback.

Very Special Kids Online Staff Application Form
LSC&PH has generated an online application and payment system for staff for the VSK camp October 1 to October 3. If you would like to attend the VSK camp please visit the forms section of the website and click “Very Special Kids Online Staff Application Form Apply Online”. Please note this system can only accept credit card payments and you payment must be submitted with this application.

Volunteer Positions Available at LSC&PH
LSC&PH has a number of volunteer roles vacant. All these roles require people with talents in organisation and coordination. We are seeking dedicated people with a passion to see the programs & activities of LSC&PH continue in their unique way. The following positions are available:

Camp Diversity Coordinator
The Camp Diversity coordinator is responsible for organisation, coordination, and running of camp diversity. This role requires your organisation, leadership and people skills to successfully bring about the best outcome for all participants. Click here for more information.

Youth Activities Coordinator
The position of Youth Activities Coordinator is available. As youth activities coordinator you will be responsible for providing leadership to LSC&PH programs such as MAX and emPOWERme. Your role will also include representing the young people of LSC&PH amongst the community. If you are interested in this position please click here.

Journal Team Manager
We are seeking well organised person is to manage the highly valued printed journal. You will be working closely with the journal team and office to ensure that the journal remains a well anticipated and representative document for LSC&PH members. For more information please click here

Association Activities Coordinator
LSC&PH is seeking a volunteer to coordinate and oversee a range of activities for members. These activities include Oldies, Goldies, Easter & Christmas & Work Camps, Power2Lead, and the ANZAC service. If you would like to know more about this opportunity please click here.

CHANGE OF DATE: Out of respect for the Muslim Eid festival SailAway has now been moved to September 17 to 19. Due to this change; staff applications will now close on September 3, 2010. If you would like to be involved in this camp please

Production of 'Don's Party'
LSC&PH productions are preforming Don's Party; an infamous and entertaining play written by David Williamson. Don's Party is thought provoking whist remaining funny. Members in the community
Peter Duncan is a LSC&PH member who has been nominated for a Pride of Australia medal for his dedication to improving the lives of people with disability. Peter is to be interviewed on ABC radio (AM-774) on Tuesday August 3 approximately 1pm.

Members In the Community - Peter Duncan
Peter Duncan (2005, Staff) has spent more than 10 years helping people with intellectual disabilities play basketball. Peter's incredible dedication and commitment to the benefit of the intellectually disabled community has seen him be nominated for a Pride of Australia medal. We congratulate Peter on his nomination and encourage people to find out more about the work he is doing in the community.

The Backs & Bums Appeal has been running for just over one month. Members have responded magnificently so far raising nearly $7000. This is an incredible effort and we would like to thank all those who have donated so generously to this appeal. Everyday Hero
Lord Somers Camp & Power House has teamed up with Everyday Hero to offer an easy solution for people who want to raise money for LSC&PH. Everyday Hero is an online forum which enable users to generate their own personal profile under the banner of LSC&PH. This means that you can raise money easily online through a specific event or ongoing support. It's easy to get all your family and friends involved and donating. Membership Renewal
Membership renewal forms are available to be downloaded from the ‘Forms Download' section of the website. This year's form has a section for you to update any information necessary as well as inform LSC&PH of the skills you might be willing to offer. The database and voluntary talents information update form is available online via the ‘Forms Download' section of the website.

Mirabel Foundation Camp
Lord Somers Camp & Power House has teamed up with the Mirabel Foundation to give families affected by illicit drug use a weekend of excitement and pampering. The Mirabel foundation works with children who's parents aren't capable of providing a stable home environment due to the impact of drugs. The parenting of these kids normally falls to the grandparents who may also be in need of assistance. LSC&PH is giving these families the opportunity to get away and enjoy a relaxing and fun weekend. Mirabel Camp runs from Friday August 27 - Sunday August 29, 2010.
